Value Proposition

The Olosho Lang’ Conference Centre is a social enterprise managed by the Centre for Minority Rights Development (CEMIRIDE). It supports CEMIRIDE’s long-term sustainability while fostering socio-economic empowerment among neighboring indegenous Maasai community members.

The Conference Centre seeks to create improvements in the socioeconomic conditions of its target beneficiaries (women, youth, and persons with disabilities) by collaborating with various community groups to deliver essential services

Our roots

Olosho Lang’ is a Maasai term that means ‘our people/community’. The conference centre is an idea to sustain the fight for the rights of minorities and indigenous peoples of Kenya

“It was an honour to be among the first guests attending a conference at Olosho Lang. The place is quiet and very good for meetings. Also very good hilly views! Karibuni sana!”

Halima Shariff, Community Leader

Tasty organic meals

Olosho Lang

Come experience organically grown, authentically prepared wholesome meals that are not only tasty, but that also take you back down memory lane when food had real taste back in the village.

Sustainable Conferencing

CEMIRIDE has constructed a Conference Centre for workshops and trainings (Olosho Lang’ Conference Centre) in Kisamis Town, along Magadi Road, as part of its sustainability strategy. While it is primarily for use for CEMIRIDE’s workshops and trainings, we would like to appeal to our partners to also use it, instead of commercial hotels, as part of supporting CEMIRIDE’s Sustainability efforts. The facility also contributes to the well-being of the community through direct improvement of income. The project obtains hospitality services such as catering and cleaning services from neighbouring indigenous community groups (women, youths, and persons with disabilities). Using this approach, the project directly benefits an estimated 300 households annually. This will impact approximately 2,400 people in terms of general well-being (health, food security, education, shelter, and water).
